Youth are invaluable assets to agricultural development as they are in a position to easily adopt the application of biotechnology. Ensuring that these future beneficiaries have a good grasp on the issues surrounding the technology is important, especially if they are to fully utilize it and diffuse it to the rest of the population.

In an attempt to popularise and promote awareness and understanding of biotechnology amongst the youth, the AfriCenter has initiated various activities with the Kenyan Youth Biotechnology Network (KYBNet), a youth network under BioAWARE that aims to engage youth in biotechnology awareness and stimulate biotech entrepreneurial ventures among the youth in Kenya. Some of these activities include a Biotech Fashion Show and Inter-University Quizes.
