Privacy Policy

How information is handled when you browse our website, request training, or subscribe to updates.

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Scope

This notice covers the ISAAA AfriCenter website, including Science Communication Training requests. It explains information submitted through our forms and the external services involved in delivering the website.

Information you provide

Training requests collect your contact name, email, organization, selected service, participant count, and the page from which you submit. Phone, country, and training notes are optional. Please do not include sensitive personal information or participant lists in the notes. Newsletter subscriptions collect your email, first name, last name, and country.

How information is used

Training information is used to respond to your request, understand your organization’s needs, and discuss arrangements. Newsletter information is used to manage the updates you request. Submitting a training request does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Technical request information may also be processed by hosting services to deliver and protect the website.

Services that receive information

Training submissions are forwarded to AfriCenter’s WordPress registration system for administration and email notifications. Newsletter subscriptions are processed through Mailchimp and require email confirmation. Website hosting, email, and service providers may process information as part of delivering these services. External images and video thumbnails also contact their hosting providers when loaded; opening a YouTube video takes you to YouTube, which applies its own privacy policy.

Storage and retention

Training requests are recorded in the registration system and may appear in notification emails. This website does not automatically delete training requests after a fixed period. Contact us to ask about the retention of your particular record or to request deletion, subject to applicable recordkeeping requirements.

Your choices and rights

You may contact us to ask about the use of your data, request access or correction, object to processing, or request deletion where applicable. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Use the unsubscribe link in newsletter emails to stop updates. You may raise a data protection concern with Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

International services and changes

External hosting, email, newsletter, and media providers may process information outside your country. Contact us for details about providers and safeguards relevant to your request. We may update this notice when the website or its services change; the date above identifies the latest revision.

Read about data subject rights at Kenya’s ODPC.
