The  8th World One Health Conference is underway in Cape Town, South Africa from 19th to 23rd September 2024 where AfriCenter is represented among like-minded delegates, early-career scientists and students in the Global One Health Network. The conference aims to bridge the gap between science outputs, policy and practice by uniting scientists and key opinion leaders in the global One Health landscape to deliberate on the collected evidence and groom a critical mass of next-generation One Health scientists and opinion shapers.

Under the COHESA project, a rich in-country representation from government ministries, departments and agencies was realized amongst over 1400 participants from 87 countries across the globe, within the series of panel discussions, presentations and networking sessions that are scheduled. AfriCenter is proud to be involved in the discussions on global One Health and aims to continue playing the important role of translating technical scientific outputs into practical interventions that can work to improve the society holistically and sustainably. We look forward to sharing more outputs on our involvement in this critical event in global One Health policy and practice.
