The Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology in Africa (OFAB) Kenya Chapter is glad to announce the 2019 call for participation in the annual OFAB Media Awards. With seven chapters, OFAB takes pride in enhancing knowledge sharing and awareness creation on agricultural biotechnology both within and beyond Africa. The resultant understanding and appreciation of the technology has enabled improvement of policies and evidence-based decision making by various stakeholders. Journalists have been instrumental in information dissemination over the years, and through their stories, steady increase in awareness about all attributes of the technology has been recorded. In this light, the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), the organization that manages OFAB program, and its partner organizations including International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA AfriCenter) wish to recognize journalists who have consistently gone out of their way to inform the public on agricultural biotechnology.
The activity which seeks to promote excellence in agricultural biotechnology reporting will celebrate and award three winning journalists in the categories of; Television, Radio and Print & Online.
