4th African Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases and Biosecurity

Where: Freetown, Sierra Leone
What: The conference is an academic and policy-based meeting that will address response mechanism to biological threats and increasing incidences of Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) from a Continental perspective. It is organized by Global Emerging Pathogen Treatment Consortium (GET) in partnership with West African Task Force for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Disease Outbreaks (WATER) and Mothergold (MG)

The 8th Africa Nutritional Epidemiology Conference
When: 01 – 05 October, 2018
Where: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
What: The Africa Nutrition Conference (ANEC) is held biennially in various parts of the continent. ANEC provides a forum for nutrition scientists, public health professionals, academics, students and field-based workers in Africa and the rest of the world to meet regularly to share their research findings and best practices and to build capacity to address nutritional challenges in Africa. One sub-theme of the conference is “The Role of food industries, and biofortification in addressing malnutrition in Africa.”

OFAB Media Awards

Where: Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
What: The Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology in Africa (OFAB) will be rewarding journalists who have excelled in reporting agricultural biotechnology in the continent. This will be during OFAB Annual Review and Planning Meeting. The media awards ceremony follows country-based competitions held by each OFAB chapter.
